16 May 2018 – PLETHORA Conference Programme
‘PLETHORA’: what’s in it for you?
Transforming Healthcare through Advanced Analytics
A one day interactive conference:
May 16, 2018, 10am – 4pm
Woburn House, 20 Tavistock Square, London, WC1H 9HQ
Advanced analytics and operational research have completely transformed other sectors of our society and economy – so why so little effective or widespread adoption in our health services?
PLETHORA (PLanning for Effective Transformation of Healthcare using Operational Research and advanced Analytics) is an initiative funded by the Health Foundation which is directed at this question.
This collaborative project brings together key players from across healthcare, research and commercial domains including frontline clinicians, NHS managers and analysts, academic researchers, policy makers, public health consultants, and many other stakeholders.
This conference will showcase the achievements of the PLETHORA project and include keynote presentations by thought leaders in the area. In addition, the audience will be invited to participate in interactive sessions.
So what’s in it for you?
- This event will be ideal for anyone new to OR/analytics and keen to learn more. It will give the chance to learn about what these tools can contribute to the NHS from those who are already using it successfully; and to find out where to go for further information. No prior knowledge is assumed!
- For everyone else, it’s a chance to contribute to the debate and help shape the next steps. Where do we go from here? How can we increase the use of analytics and OR in the NHS, and thereby improve both the effectiveness and the efficiency of health care service delivery in the UK?
Keynote presentations:
Confirmed speakers currently include Abraham George, Consultant in Public Health at Kent County Council and developer of the Kent Integrated Data Set, and Dominic Cushnan, Digital Innovations Manager, NHS Horizons Team, NHS England.
Further Information:
Full details and a programme will be circulated to participants well in advance of the event. In the meantime further information about the background to the PLETHORA project as well as announcements about the conference will be available on this site.
