I work in Public Health in NHS Nottinghamshire County. I have used various techniques and software to model urgent care service redesign in Nottinghamshire. We have used discrete event simulation (Scenario Generator), Monte-Carlo analysis and demographic modelling to support the review of an A&E depart and walk-in centres. We would also like to model long-term conditions and the links to end-of-life pathways, especially given financial pressures (Nov 2010).
